The Matrix Resurrections is in theaters and on HBO Max as we speak, reintroducing audiences to a world they first met when the original movie hit theaters in 1999. Once more, Neo (Keanu Reeves), Trinity (Carrie Ann Moss), and Morpheus (now played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) are fighting their way through a virtual world in an attempt to free those essentially being held captive. After this movie, though, what does the future hold?
Warning: The following contains spoilers for The Matrix Resurrections. If you haven’t watched the film yet, you should stop reading now.
Given that the original Matrix spawned two sequels, it’s only natural to wonder if that’s the territory we have wandered into once more. After all, given how the movie ends it seems more of the story needs to be told.
